This post isn’t about me cussing out Lauryn Hill, it’s about her defending her performances. Well mainly the video below. For many fans of Ms Lauryn Hill, her one studio album the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is considered a 10/10 album and in many people’s top 5.
She’s been through her stresses and misfortunes since then and when she announced in 2011/2012 she would be going on tour again many were unsure and felt that she would be a flop. Her first show sounded rusty, but it is difficult to judge off a YouTube video. I made the brave decision to go to her 2012 show in London and I can honestly say it was one of the best shows I had attended and I loved that the legend Lauryn Hill was back to her best.
Fast forward to 2014, she announced another tour and because I enjoyed the 2012 show there was no doubt that I would be going to see her again. This was probably the worst decision, she remixed 3/5 songs from her Miseducation album and they were not enjoyable, she was late and pretty much killed my vibe.
Many people enjoyed but a lot more were very critical of her performance. Anyway let’s forget our opinions, she has felt the pressure and went on a bit of rant at her Brooklyn Bowl performance.
