North London is still red! Although Arsenal were pinned back by Tottenham in the most recent North London Derby, most Arsenal fans will say that Spurs will forever live in the shadows of Arsenal and yesterdays match showed why.

Arsenal won the match from the 72nd second of the game with a rocket from the Czech maestro Tomas Rosicky. Many watching the game will think Spurs were incredibly unlucky not to take a point from the game but they came against a determined and solid Laurent Koscielny and the Big Fucking German Per Mertesacker who guarded the Arsenal defence better than Thor has ever defended Asgard. ‘Keeper Wojciech Szczesny presented Tottenham with an open goal which they could not convert, shocking right. Either Tim Sherwood told them not to score because he’s a gooner or they miss Gareth Bale

This was one of the most reserved Arsenal performances all season, the Gunners were pinned back, couldn’t find their normal graceful flow, however, did not look nervous. A lot of talk before the match was focused on the usual Arsenal crumble. Crashed out of Europe on Tuesday and could suffer another blow to their title dreams, however, Tomas Rosicky had other ideas. For the majority of that match you could only think that it would be a matter of time for Spurs to take their chances and take the points. Injury hit, out of Europe and away from home you would think that Spurs would have made Arsenal pay for their lack of urgency.

North London Derbies over the last few years have been full of goals, mistakes and comebacks. One thing you do not associate with a North London Derby is a clean sheet. This season Arsenal and Spurs have played three times this season and the gunners have conceded a surprise low of 0 goals. 0 goals in a North London Derby are you sure?  Arsenal have only scored 4 goals against Spurs this season, however, the 4 goals were enough to knock them out of the FA Cup and complete the league double over their bitter rivals. Maybe they shouldn’t have sold Gareth Bale.

Have Arsenal finally regained full control over North London Derbies? Is it time for the wishful thinking from Tottenham to stop? Well there is always next season, however, for 2013/2014 season North London is definitely red!
