After kicking off the “Legend of Summer tour” with Justin Timberlake in the summer, Jay-Z is back with another tour! Jay-Z goes on a tour around Europe with the “Magna Carta” tour after the release of his 12th studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Hov takes the tour to 11 different European cities starting October 3rd 2013 in Dublin and ending in Amsterdam October 29th 2013.
Tickets were released on general sale on Friday 19th July 2013, selling out the majority of the tour. Similar to the “Watch the Throne” tour, once the London o2 had sold out the majority of the tickets for the first three dates, an added date followed suit to the first three dates! The tour follows the “Legend of Summer” which kicked off at the Yahoo “Wireless” festival in London and continued across the USA and Canada with over 10 dates.
After his wireless performance it seems as if Jay-Z is becoming accustomed to Europe. And with such a strong back catalogue it would not be a shock to see one of his many Roc Nation artist or prodigies to make an appearance while he is on his European tour.
I am not to sure how much the tours have taken out of “Young Hov”. Recently he has been filmed to have forgotten lyrics to “No Church In The Wild”.
With the ticket demand being so high and the “Legend of Summer Tour” receiving such praise you could only imagine that Jay-Z is looking to put on one of the greatest hip hop shows to grace the o2. I don’t expect it to come close to the spectacle which was “Watch the Throne” Tour; however, after listening to Magna Carta Holy Grail, it will be hard to believe that he won’t do his best to top the “WTT” Tour. And maybe history will be made with an appearance with Beyonce and Jay-Z performing live in Europe together, or an epic feature with Rick Ross performing “f*ckwithmeyouknowigotit” (see below for the Miami collaboration.
